Hi,
i have recently moved to munich, while i was out on the road, and i have a good time (specialized-bighit 05) as my hard tails are stuck out of reach, (long story). i just dont want to bring a big bike and then. i know it will be a bitch for commuting on, but if there is enough quality.
so what advice would you give to a fella, are there enough trails and places to have fun on a bike in munich? or should I try and get a little bit of hard or all mountain bike?

Please help.
Thanks!

Hi,
i have recently moved to munich, while i was out investigating the city i noticed that most of the place is pretty flat and this has made my decision hard, the bike that i have available to bring with me is my big old dh bike (specialized-bighit 05) as my hard tails are stuck far away out of reach, (long story). i just dont want to bring a big bike and then not be able to have fun on it. i know it will be a bitch for commuting on, but if there is enough quality fun to be had in the city i would suffer that.
so what advice would you give a fella, are there enough trails and places to have fun on a dh bike in munich? or should i hold fire and try and get a nice little hard tail or all mountain bike?

Please help.
Thanks!

Biking to the Racetrack |

Hi,
I will be in Death Valley for 2 days in early April and I would like to visit the Racetrack. My problem is, I am below 25 and I can't rent a jeep from Farabee's to drive there. My question is, would I be able to drive to Ubehebe Crater (or closest real road to the Racetrack) and then bike the rest of the way? Also, I would like to hear opinions on whether I can drive to the Racetrack in my own car (regular 2 wheel drive, not high clearance), because I've seen differing opinions on this.
Lastly, is it possible to hitch a ride to the Racetrack, perhaps from the hotel at Furnace Creek? Would the hotel help me find someone who would be willing to take me along (even for pay)? Does anyone have experience in this?
Please help.
Thanks!

Are You Riding the Right Bike? |

Hi,
If there is one thing we mountain bikers like to do, it's buy new stuff. And when we do, we are often influenced by a whole bunch of factors, like brand, price, performance, etc. But there is another factor that often comes into play, and that is when our purchase decisions are influenced by the kind of riders we'd like to think we are.
Some of us held on to dual crowns for way too long, thinking "you can't ride what I ride on a single crown". Then, it's "29ers won't hold up under ME", or "pfffff hahaha 120-mm of travel I'm way too rad for THAT".
Please help.
Thanks!

Transporting a DH Bike In A Camper van |
Geschrieben von: Johneames - 2017-10-23, 10:31 - Forum: Allgemeines Mountainbike Board

Hi,
Finally got a van to use for my sons DH racing, I'm going to sort of camperise it so it sleeps 2 adults and a 12 year old, a cooker and a few other bits.
Just wondering if anyone has done anything similar and the main thing I would like some advise on is carrying/storing the bike in the van, it will fit in sideways with the wheels removed, so I was thinking of making a couple of little T stands that would fit using the axels of the bike, but has anyone got any other ideas that they use, I think it would fit just removing one of the wheels as well
Please help.
Thanks!

Can I build some jumps in your front garden? |

Hi,
We've had a spate of threads recently asking where it would be ok to build trails. Well the simple answer is nowhere unless you've got the land owners permission and every scrap of land is owned by someone. This includes council land, waste land, FC land and any other 'public' land you can think of. Just because it looks unused to you doesn't mean it's not got a colony of rare slugs living on it or that no one else has more legitimate activities taking place on the land.
If you do build anything you leave yourself open to being sued for trespass at the very least, might be criminal damage or even worse if someone gets hurt as a result of what you've done. On a more practical note everytime mountain bikers go and build something unofficial we risk alienating land owners even more.
Please help.
Thanks!
