Das schon. Dazu muß man aber sagen, dass der Begriff VPP ein wenig in die Irre führt. Denn bei den VPP Bikes geht´s eigentlich nicht um den virtuellen Drehpunkt an sich, sondern um eine spezielle Raderhebungskurve und den damit verbundenen speziellen virtuellen Drehpunkten und v.a. Momentanpolen. Im Patent von Outland steht jedenfalls, dass sich das "VPP" Prinzip dadurch auszeichnet, dass die Raderhebungskurve eine leichte S-Form geschreibt, und somit der Kettenzug den Hinterbau immer wieder in den Sag zurückzieht.
Beim DW-Link ist dies gerade nicht der Fall. Dort schaut man eher, dass man möglichst keine Antriebseinflüsse hat.
Einen Vergleich zwischen VPP und dw-link gibt´s hier:

The Hollowpoint's dw-link setup develops a tuned amount of anti-squat starting as soon as the suspension begins to compress. At 0 inches of travel through 2 inches of travel, the bikes basically develop 100% anti squat through a wide range of gears. This means that as you accelerate, the suspension action is left unimpeded to react to to terrain. This is a major reason why Hollowpoints are knows as such incredible climbers. In addition to that, the dw-link system also features very VERY little pedal feedback...."
